Danny d. cheng-m.d.,p.a.

Dr. Cheng has been practicing medicine for the past 12 years. He was born in Taiwan and grew up in the Houston areas of Alief and Sugar Land. He attended undergraduate studies at Houston Baptist University and received his medical degree from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Cheng received his Board certification in Internal Medicine and served for two years as an Attending Physician at Lyndon Baines Johnson General Hospital. During this time, he gained much experience in treating patients in the acute care setting while teaching medical students and residents in training.

Dr. Cheng has since been in private practice, caring for patients in both inpatient and outpatients settings. He currently has privileges at University General Hospital, where he also serves as Chief of Internal Medicine and Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program. Dr. Cheng specializes in the treatment of chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes mellitus and heart disease, but strongly believes in the practice of Preventive Medicine. Not only does he counsel about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, but he personally enjoys the benefits of doing so himself. Dr. Cheng runs regularly at Rice University and weight-trains during the weekends. He values time spent with his wife, family and friends, traveling, and playing golf on those rare occasions.

joanne l. Rogers-m.d.,p.a.

A near-native Houstonian, Dr. Rogers has always had an insatiable desire to learn and help others.
Dr. Rogers graduated from Emory University in 1985 where she received a B.A. in both Biology and Psychology. She received her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1989 from The University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio. Dr. Rogers completed her postgraduate internship and residency in Family Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1993, and has additional training in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Dr. Rogers is a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice, and received the distinction of Fellow by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Rogers opened her private practice in 2000. Prior to that time, she was an Associate Physician with University Medical Group/Avanti, Greenbriar Medical Associates, and OneCare Family Practice all within a 3-mile radius of her current location. Prior to moving to the new Bellaire location, Dr. Rogers spent 11 years in private practice at Greenway Family Practice.
In addition to tending to her patients, Dr. Rogers is active in numerous medical and charitable organizations. She is the Past President of the Houston Academy of Medicine and is also Past President of the Houston Medical Forum. In addition, she also holds several academic appointments with Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Medical Branch, and University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and San Antonio.

Passionate about helping others, Dr. Rogers dedicates time away from the practice to participate in a variety of community projects and is extremely active in organized medicine.

mark b. blick-d.o.,p.a.

Dr. Blick was born in 1945 and raised on a farm in Kansas. After completing High School, he received a BA degree in Philosophy from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. After completing one year of graduate work in theology at Detroit University, he was drafted into the US Army. Having completed his two years of military service obligation in Viet-Nam, he was honorably discharged.

Dr. Blick then enrolled in Kansas University where he completed two years of premed requirements before accepting a position at the Osteopathic Medical School located in Kansas City. He received his doctorate degree from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in 1977. He then completed one year of Internship and three years of Internal Medicine Residency in Detroit, Michigan at the Detroit Osteopathic Hospital and Wayne State University, respectively. In the summer of 1981 he took a Medical Oncology Fellowship position at UT MD Anderson Cancer Institute where he eventually joined the staff as an Assistant Professor of Medicine until 1989 when he decided to leave academic medicine.

Dr. Blick then Co-founded a start-up biotech company where he served in various capacities a Vice-President for Business Development and Clinical Research from 1989-1993. As a result of these endeavors, he is an author of a number a peer reviewed scientific articles and US patents. In 1993 he joined McGregor Medical Association, a multi-specialty group practice, as an Internist. When this organization closed in July of 2002, he went into private practice where remains to this day.

rene e. darveaux-m.d.,p.a.

Born in Iowa and raised in Minnesota with five brothers and sisters, Dr. Darveaux learned the common sense values of work, family and religion. He studied biology at St. Johns University in Minnesota and headed west to Medical School at Meharry Medical College in Tennessee. At St. John University and Meharry Medical College he was able to expand his appreciation of the variety of people in the world.

Dr. Darveaux completed his Family Practice residency at Baylor School of Medicine and has practiced in Houston since 1981. He has spent the last eight years in private practice with a small group of physicians and formerly worked at MacGregor Medical Association for 20 years.

Dr. Darveaux has been married to his wife, Christina for 32 years and they have two teenage sons. He enjoys many activities with them and participates in his church choir and other church social events.
